Work From Home Outfit Roundups
At the start of the new year, I set a small but intentional goal for myself to sprinkle in a few new types of content alongside my paper flowers. Paper crafting will always be at the heart of what I share, but I also wanted to make room for the everyday things that inspire me behind the scenes. One of those things is work from home outfits. The other will be semi-healthy, easy meals, which I’ll be introducing another time. Today, I wanted to start with outfits, because this shift has genuinely changed how I feel during my workdays at home.
For a long time, my work-from-home routine looked the same every day. I would roll out of bed, throw on lounge wear, and start working. While that sounds comfortable, I slowly realized it was affecting my motivation in ways I didn’t expect.
I actually love getting dressed. Not fancy dressed, but put-together dressed. The kind of outfit you would wear to work, except your commute is walking into another room of your house. As time went on, I noticed my closet filling up with pieces I was saving for special occasions. Those clothes just sat there while months passed, and eventually a full year would go by. Some items no longer felt trendy, some confused me as to why I bought them in the first place, and others were still brand new with tags attached.
Shopping My Closet
That’s when it clicked for me. Why was I letting outfits rot in my closet when I could be enjoying them now?
This year, I’ve been making a conscious effort to shop my closet and wear what I already own. Instead of waiting for the perfect occasion, I’ve been reaching for pieces that deserve to be worn on ordinary days. Simply getting dressed has made a noticeable difference, I feel more motivated, more creative, and more energized throughout the day. It makes working from home feel more like going to work, even when I’m still in slippers.
Before writing this post, I shared a poll on Instagram asking what you’d like to see more of in the new year. Most of the responses were, understandably, paper flowers and other crafts. But I was genuinely flattered when someone mentioned wanting to see more outfits. So here I am, an excuse to go shopping, some in my closet and some new!
My Go-To Work From Home Outfit Formula
One of my favorite pieces to build outfits around is a good cardigan. I love how cardigans drape on me, and I love how versatile they are. They layer beautifully over tank tops or tees, they add warmth without feeling bulky, and they instantly make an outfit feel finished. A cardigan is one of those pieces that works just as well for a Zoom meeting as it does for running errands.
Another part of my outfit philosophy is mixing one elevated piece with something more casual or budget-friendly. One of my favorite combinations is pairing a cashmere cardigan with white jeans from Target. I also love layering a lace-trim tank top under a sweater, feminine detail.

This mix keeps outfits feeling balanced and wearable. I don’t believe everything needs to be expensive to look put together. Some of my favorite outfits come from pairing one quality, timeless piece with everyday basics that are easy to style and easy to replace.
Throughout this post, you’ll see photos of different work from home outfits using this same approach. They’re outfits I actually wear while designing, filming, editing, crafting, and doing all the behind-the-scenes work that happens at home.

Dressing for the Life You’re Living Now
If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this post, it’s that you don’t have to save your clothes for a special occasion. Getting dressed, even just a little, can shift your mindset, boost your motivation, and help you enjoy the pieces you once loved enough to buy.
If you work from home, consider this your sign to shop your closet, wear the outfit, mix the nice piece with the casual one, and get dressed for the life you’re living right now.
More outfit roundups coming soon, and paper flowers always.
